pilcrow news
In an article from the Times called "Moving a step closer to creating life", I became curious as to the biologist J Craig Venter and his involvement in Challenging the federal govn'ts effort to decode the human genome. This is a wikipedia link to the topic HUMAN GENOME PROJECT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Genome_Project
This article came ou on page A10 of the LATimes, Jan. 25, 2008. The journalist's name is Karen Kaplan.
The reason I took interest in this is simple. I am curious to see scientists clone a Dodo bird, and the title of this article seemed like a breakthru in stem cell/DNA cloning is getting closer.
A line that reads "Researchers... hope to use the method as a blueprint for designing microscopic creatures that can produce renewable fuels, medicines and industrial products" also seemed like Dodo bird cloning was a posibility.
